3105 aluminum sheet should be reviewed with its temper and thickness together. A property row belongs to the condition and size range named above it. The alloy number alone does not identify that row.
Start with the released material requirement. Then compare the offered stock and accompanying documents against that complete description.
What the 3105 aluminum sheet datasheet actually describes
Rolled Metal Products’ 3105 technical datasheet describes an alloy that is not hardened by heat treatment. Its mechanical-property tables identify strain-hardened H12 and H14 conditions.
Those tables separate thickness bands and label yield strength, tensile strength and elongation columns. The sheet also warns that its information does not establish the actual properties of an individual supplied material.
The document carries a 2017 copyright. Confirm the applicable current order requirements with the supplier; this historical sheet is background for reading the fields.
Four checks before using a table row
1. Match the table’s temper to the offered material
Write the complete approved material identity on the inquiry. Ask the supplier to retain the temper in its quoted line.
If a table names H12, keep that heading with the row. A neighboring H14 table describes a different stated condition.
Ask which condition the supplier is offering when the quotation says only “3105.” Resolve that question before borrowing a mechanical-property entry from a datasheet.
A short fictional document review
Imagine inquiry S18 specifies 3105-H14 sheet. The invented quotation lists “3105 sheet,” while the buyer’s comparison file contains an entry copied from an H12 heading.
Two items need correction: the offered temper is incomplete, and the copied entry is attached to the wrong stated condition. There is no real supplier or tested result in this example.
Keep the released H14 requirement visible while requesting a complete offer. Have the responsible reviewer handle any proposed alternative.
| Document entry | Action to complete the record |
|---|---|
| Inquiry: 3105-H14 | Retain the released condition in the comparison. |
| Offer: 3105 only | Request the actual offered temper. |
| Copied H12 row | Recheck its applicability before using it. |
This example explains document review. It assigns no required strength, acceptable substitute or actual material capability.

2. Keep the thickness band attached to the property
Identify the ordered thickness and its units. When reviewing a table, locate the range that applies under the governing document’s stated convention.
Do not move a result from a neighboring thickness row without checking its scope. Keep the original table heading and row label in the comparison record.
Where a range boundary is unclear, request clarification from the responsible specification owner. The purchasing team should not invent a boundary rule.
Retain the product scope
Confirm whether the offer concerns coil, full sheet or separated blanks. Show the dimensions and preparation required at the supplied stage.
If the order includes cut blanks, identify their approved geometry and quantity. Keep that information separate from any later formed-part dimensions.
The 3003 sheet guide addresses a different alloy. Use it for the organization of an inquiry while keeping each material’s approved identity separate.
3. Preserve what each property column means
Read the property name, units and any stated minimum or maximum together. Copying only the number removes information needed to understand the entry.
Keep yield strength and tensile strength under their own headings. Preserve the stated basis of an elongation entry instead of renaming it as a general forming approval.
For a supplied material report, ask how each result relates to the ordered product requirement. Identify the actual tested item and the document’s scope.
Do not turn a summary into a batch report
A general technical sheet accompanies a discussion of material. Ask for the order’s required material records for the stock being supplied.
Keep a catalog entry labeled as catalog information. Put an actual measured result in its own field with the relevant material identity and report reference.
If the supplier provides only a summary, state which required evidence remains open. Have the responsible quality owner review that gap before release.

4. Connect the offered condition to the delivered blanks
Match the received package and accompanying material record to the approved order. Retain the stated alloy, temper and product identity.
Agree how that identity stays with separated blanks. Use the approved package or labeling arrangement where a visible face must remain unmarked.
If several materials share similar dimensions, keep their order references distinguishable at receipt. Ask the supplier to clarify an unreadable or incomplete package identity.
Define the next-operation handoff
Give the forming provider the actual stock condition and thickness. Request its approved blank instruction where the later shape controls the cutting-stage geometry.
The bend-allowance guide addresses angle conventions and developed geometry. A material table alone does not approve that calculation for the actual forming setup.
Retain the approved drawing and flat-pattern revisions together. If the material or geometry changes, ask the responsible teams to review the affected preparation.
Keep surface and edge work in the delivery scope
State whether the supplied item includes protective film, edge treatment or another preparation. Identify the required condition of any face used later.
Ask suppliers to list exclusions beside the offer. Include necessary preparation and records in the comparison before deciding which price covers the same delivery.

A usable inquiry line
Please quote 3105 aluminum sheet in the approved temper and specified thickness, supplied in the attached blank geometry. Confirm the offered material identity, applicable product requirement and included material records.
Replace that wording with the actual released requirements. Attach the dimensions, quantity, delivery stage and relevant surface instructions.
For an aluminum cutting-machine discussion, send JiurunCut the actual stock form and cutting requirements. Have the equipment proposal reviewed for the stated job.
Keep 3105 aluminum sheet material approval with the responsible material and manufacturing teams. A datasheet or alloy name does not establish a machine configuration.
Questions before releasing the order
Can an H12 table entry stand in for H14?
Match the stated table condition to the actual requirement. Ask for review where the offered condition differs.
Does a datasheet prove the properties of received stock?
Request the specified records for that delivered material and retain their scope.
Can one property row approve a formed part?
The actual geometry, material and forming proposal need their own responsible review.
