For aluminum saw blade recycling, compare offers against the same accepted item and quantity basis. The relevant question is what the receiver has actually agreed to take, not which headline rate looks most attractive.
Aluminum saw blade recycling: object
Hypothetical purchasing example: an aluminum-profile factory has a batch of identified sawblades already retired through a separate authorized decision. The purchasing department is comparing recycling offers. This example does not decide whether any blade can be repaired or returned to use.
Receiver A has accepted the complete lot for a whole-tool quotation. Receiver B has supplied a preliminary rate for a carbide category but has not confirmed whether or how it would accept these intact blades. These are fictional offers, not terms supplied by either manufacturer cited below.
The department copies the batch’s recorded weight into both comparisons. It appears to have competing prices for the same lot, but the second enquiry has not established whether that lot is the offered object at all. The apparent comparison is ahead of the actual receiving agreement.

Material
Cutting aluminum does not make the blade aluminum scrap. The factory’s separately classified machining offcuts are outside this fictional retirement lot.
Leitz lists tungsten-carbide tipping and a steel-foil tool-body feature for one sawblade.
Whole-tool mass is not automatically carbide mass. The recorded weight alone therefore cannot complete the second comparison. The buyer has a number for an actual lot, but still lacks B’s acceptance of that lot and the basis on which it would be quoted.
CERATIZIT lists sawblades in mixed-carbide scrap and distinguishes other metallic material categories.
A recycler’s material category still needs its own quantity definition. The listing is not permission to assign the hypothetical batch to that category, or to read a material rate as a complete-lot offer. Neither source establishes a quotation for this factory.

Offer
The two enquiries can become comparable once both replies address the actual offered object. Until then, the table describes their different positions rather than a ranking of receivers.
| Offer | Quantity | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Whole tools | Accepted lot | Confirmed |
| Carbide | Material basis | Pending |
If B accepts the complete lot and explains the corresponding quantity basis, the department can compare its clarified offer with A. It should use what each receiver actually offers, not preserve the earlier calculation merely because it is already in the purchasing summary.
If B accepts only a different form of material, that offer belongs to another route. It is not current income from the intact batch. The factory should not invent preparation work, its feasibility or its outcome to make the two replies appear alike.

Decision
Keeping A’s accepted conditions is a valid option while B remains incomplete. That does not establish A as the more valuable offer. Without a comparable reply, the factory has no basis for concluding that the apparently attractive alternative applies to what it owns.
Illustrative buyer message for this fictional enquiry:
Please quote the actual retired lot and identify the quantity your offer uses. Keep a material-category rate separate until you confirm how our complete tools are accepted; do not assume our recorded weight answers both enquiries.
The comparison should include only tools whose retirement has already been separately decided. A tool still awaiting that decision is not added merely to enlarge the lot. This keeps service assessment outside the recycling quotation without prescribing a storage or disposal arrangement.
